Board Attendees: Judy Scott, Bob Harris, Joe Morris, Kaye Massie, Margie Benson, Jenny Rice

The business meeting was called to order at 6:31 PM by Judy Scott, with a quorum of the Board present.

Secretary's Report -- Joe Morris

* Approval of October 23, 2019 monthly meeting minutes.

* Approval of November 25, 2019 monthly meeting minutes

Jenny moved to approve the minutes, Bob seconded as amended. The motion passed unanimously.

Treasurer’s report -- Kaye Massie

All bills are paid and there is $749.26 in the bank account. Kaye brought in statement for annual report given to Judy and tax statement for 2019 from Olympia Fed given to Joe.

Jenny moved to approve the Treasurer's report. The motion was seconded by Margie and passed unanimously.

Public Information Officer

We need a Public Information Officer. Our bylaws require a “PIO” as well.

It was discussed that we have the vacant board seat that Linnie Griffin had held

Judy gave a call for help at the beginning of our speaker’s time.

We discussed possible speakers: WSDOT on the Hwy #3 Freight Corridor, Sargent Spurling of Mason County Sheriff Dept., Representative Derek Kilmer, Dept of Natural Resources Ray Minish, North Mason Fire Authority Beau Bakken, Rotary (Taste of Hood Canal), Farmers Market representative, Port of Allyn (on our project) Mendy Harlow of Salmon Enhancement Group, Dan Griffey, Drew McEwan, Randy Neatherlin.

Next month's speaker: Jim Rothlin; Executive Director of the Port of Bremerton

There being no additional business, the meeting was recessed at 7:01 PM.

The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Don Cady

Bob Harris spoke briefly on more information about the upcoming School Levy

Speaker Stephanie Rowland of the North Mason Chamber of Commerce spoke along with Patti Kliest of the Chamber’s Legislative Committee.

Stephanie shared about the role the Chamber has made along with the visitor’s centers in Belfair and Union. And she shared about the licensing dept. and the good quality of the license agents that are on Chamber’s staff. She shared about the new foundation (a 501C3) that was created for supporting local businesses.

Patti shared about the role the committee has and what programs they are helping to support and start.

Good of the order

Cat Ross shared about her new publication, the “Belfair Bugle” and the “Lighthouse.” They are well received and shared across the nation! Good job Cat! Cat also shared about Betty Krueger’s autobiography. “Let’s Build Another One” All proceeds go to the HUB for supporting this fine establishment.

Next Meeting Monday, February 24, 2020. (6:30 start, general membership meeting)
