The business meeting was called to order at 6:30 PM by Lee Swoboda, with a quorum of the Board present.

Secretary's Report – Margie Benson

* Approval of May 23 annual meeting minutes.

Linnie moved to approve the minutes, as distributed via email. The motion was seconded and passed unanimously.

Treasurer's Report – Kaye Massie

* All bills are paid and there is $1,223.21 in the bank account.

Linnie moved to approve the Treasurer's report. The motion was seconded and passed unanimously.

Election of Officers 

In accordance with Section 3.5 of the Bylaws, the board elected officers to serve a one-year term.

Nominations were opened for Chair. Kaye nominated Lee Swoboda. There were no other nominations.

Nominations were opened for Vice Chair. Linnie nominated Bob Harris. There were no other nominations.

Nominations were opened for Secretary. Judy nominated Margie Benson. There were no other nominations.

Nominations were opened for Treasurer. Judy nominated Kaye Massie. There were no other nominations.

Nominations were opened for Public Information Officer. Kaye nominated Judy Scott. There were no other nominations.

Joe moved to approve the nominees by acclamation. The motion was seconded and passed unanimously.

Business meeting adjourned at 7:35 PM.

PUBLIC FORUM

At 7:00 PM NMCV hosted a public forum with the candidates for Commissioner of Public Lands, in partnership with MasonWebTV.com and Hood Canal Communications at Belfair's new Faith In Action building. The forum, moderated by Joel Myer (PUD 3 Public Information and Government Relations Manager), may be viewed at MasonWebTV.com.

The attending candidates were HILARY FRANZ, Democrat; STEVEN A MCLAUGHLIN, Republican; STEVEN M NIELSON, Libertarian; KAREN M PORTERFIELD, Democrat; and MARY B VERNER, Democrat.

The forum and subsequent on-line viewings will provide voters an opportunity to learn more about the Commissioner of Public Lands candidates before they vote in the Primary election Tuesday, August 2.

Next meeting Monday, July 25.
