The business meeting was called to order at 7:00 PM by Chair, Lee Swoboda, with a quorum of the Board present.
Secretary's Report – Margie Benson
• In Margie’s absence, Lee asked for approval of the April 22 meeting minutes.
Kaye moved to approve the minutes, as distributed via email. The motion was seconded and passed unanimously.
Treasurer's Report - Jack Kimball
• All bills are paid, including the check to the Job’s Daughters for their work tonight serving the dinner, and there is $1,282.69 in the bank account.
Judy moved to approve the Treasurer's report. The motion was seconded and passed unanimously.
Public Information Officer (PIO) Report – Ken VanBuskirk
In Ken’s absence there was no report. The membership thanked Ken, who has put in a lot of time on the Planning Advisory Commission working on the county’s shoreline master plan.
Business meeting adjourned at 7:08 PM.
The following board members’ terms expire in 2013: Margie Benson (District 1), Linnie Griffin (District 5), Kaye Massie (District 4), Judy Scott (District 3) and Lee Swoboda (District 3). All but Margie are willing to run again, and Gerry Morrow is willing to serve on the board. He resides in the same district as Benson and will take her seat if elected.
Nominations were opened to the membership but no one present volunteered to run for any of the positions.
Valerie moved to accept by acclamation Linnie Griffin, Kaye Massie, Judy Scott, Lee Swoboda and Gerry Morrow to serve 2-year terms. The motion was seconded and approved by the membership in attendance.
Annual meeting adjourned at 7:12 PM.

Follow-up regarding the Future Farmers of America (FFA) Club. (See meeting minutes of 3/25/2013 - NMCV Minutes-March 25, 2013). Danielle Skeeters-Lindsey’s son has received a $2,000 grant for college from FFA.
Kiwanis has a big 3-day garage sale throughout the Memorial Day weekend. All proceeds come back into the community.
Two Mason County Commissioners and the Mason County Sheriff spoke briefly. The Sheriff shared plans to create a North Mason precinct in Belfair.
A special thank you to Linnie Griffin, Lisa Nichols, Randy Neatherlin, the Job’s Daughters and generous members for the fabulous dinner, desserts and auction items. A great time was had by all!
The next meeting will be Monday, June 24. At that time the board will elect a chair, vice-chair, secretary and treasurer to serve a 1-year term.
