Meeting called to order at 7:02 P.M. by Vice Chair Ralph Lartz.
The Pledge of Allegiance was next.
Board of Directors present: Ralph Lartz, Ken VanBuskirk, Jack Kimball, Kaye Massie, Margie Benson, Linnie Griffin, Jacquelyn Mastel and Randy Neatherlin.
Absent: Lee Swoboda, Jim Clark and Judy Scott.
BOARD OF DIRECTORS ACTIONS
The draft minutes of the June 15, 2009 were read and a Motion was made by Margie Benson and second by Ralph Lartz to accept the minutes as corrected. The Motion passes unanimous by voice vote.
A report from Jim Clark stated we have $1066.33 in the checking account.
Ken VanBuskirk said there is a burn ban on and and everyone should be careful with fires.
Ken VanBuskirk made a Motion to remove Jim Clark from the NMCV Chase Bank account and add Jack Kimball. The Motion was seconded and passed unanimously.
Ralph Lartz said there should be an audit committee to review the books for the transfer. Kaye Massie and Ken VanBuskirk volunteered to be on the committee.
The Business Meeting was adjourned at 7:16 P.M.
Lynette George, of the non-profit organization "Blue Star Banner Program of Kitsap County," gave an excellent presentation on who they are and what they do.
They support our Military families and local military personnel who are currently serving in the Armed Forces.
These 6-foot tall banners are sponsored with the name of the person currently serving our Country.
The Blue Star Banner is for active duty Military and hung up on light poles as long as the person is on active duty.
The Gold Star Banner is displayed for those who have died while protecting the Freedom of our Country.
Each Banner costs $350 and is sponsored by local individuals. As soon as the Banner is up, a picture is taken and sent to the Military person and their sponsor.
Banners are currently displayed along Kitsap Mall Boulevard, and Viking Way in Poulsbo.
They would like to bring this program to Mason County and the Belfair area.

Guest speaker T.J. Martin, Mason County Personnel Director, gave a presentation on the recent Budget Workshop and priorities of Mason County.
They are trying to configure a budget for 2010 and are having meetings to get Public input on needs and priorities.
There will be a Workshop next week to refine people's requests.
There is a big concern for Public Safety because so many in the Sheriff's office have been laid off.
They need Budget requests by August 1, 2009.

Linnie Griffin said there will be an Outdoor Barbecue and Potluck before the next meeting on August 17, 2009. Plan to start eating at 5:30 P.M. and please bring a side dish.
Margie Benson attended a Fire District #8 meeting in Tahuya and they have agreed to pay District #2 for ParaMedic service.
Mandy Wendell said there will be a Health Care Forum at the Theler Center next Monday.
A Motion to adjourn was made by Jacquelyn Mastel and second by Margie Benson. The Motion passes unanimous by voice vote.
